| Let's see... what's been happening around here?
Isaac had some stomach issues the past couple days. He's all back to normal now but he sure does like to keep his mom on her toes! The stomach stuff caused for not so good nights of sleep for both of us so now we're both making up for it.
Right now Marie is working on keeping him awake. He just took a three hour nap but looks like he wants to sleep again. So he's dancing to Jars of Clay on her lap for the moment.
Christmas shopping is close to being done. Not much this year to do actually... we're keeping it simple. It's especially nice to have it simple so that I don't have to do much shopping with Isaac! I figure it's our last simple year before we have to buy him presents too! Though I know we will try to keep it simple next time too.
Hmmm... I really don't have too much to say at the moment. Just felt like I should update this thing:) Leah and I are keeping it alive... sort of.

| I'm sitting at mom and dad's dining room table anxiously awaiting this snow.. It looks like a snowy sky out there, gray and still. Isaac is sighing and humming in his sleep... oh wait... he WAS sleeping he just opened his eyes and has on what looks like a poopy face. Poor little dude, no privacy. We've had a quiet morning with Grandma:) Everyone else is still fast asleep. My coffee has finally kicked in and I'm feeling awake.
Okay... so I'm back. Isaac had a wet diaper and then I had to tell him all about snow. We don't have any yet, but we're prepping for it. He was very intrigued by the idea of it until he fell asleep. Ha. Now he's back in his bouncer and I'm back on here. Oh it's cold... I feel the need for socks... be right back...
Back! This is the post of interruptions! I think I'm set now though...
This week felt busy. I guess that's how it is with a two month old and life in general. We've had some car troubles again. This time we're hoping it's fixed though. We are blessed with a good and trustworthy mechanic here so we are pretty confident that the head gasket thing is taken care of now. Last time we felt like we were just shooting in the dark since we didn't know the place we had to take the car to. It happened at a better time this time around.. a month ago we probably wouldn't have been as financially ready to pay for it, we're not away from home, and I'm not pregnant and emotional. So we feel good about it.
Mom and I had a morning of Isaac clothes shopping earlier in the week. He's still in 0-3 month clothing but I was looking for 3-6 month. I've realized that it is much easier to size clothing for your child once he is here. When I was pregnant I never knew what I'd need for him or what would actually fit him. All the clothes seem wide for him but not long enough.. so it really is much easier to do the clothes shopping as he grows so that I don't get things he'll never wear. We found some really really cute things at a consignment shop and for good prices. I'll be going back there for sure! I also found him a Christmas outfit:) Very adorable!
On Thursday he had his two month appointment. I had been dreading it knowing that he would get his first shots. Isaac went into it happy as can be though. He was smiling at the nurse and doing everything they needed him to do. He weighed in at 12lbs 4oz (48th percentile) and measured 24inches (70th percentile)! He's going to take after his father I believe! The doctor determined that his jaundice is all cleared up. Isaac also showed how strong he is by lifting his head right up when the doctor placed him on his belly. They were impressed and mommy was proud:) Once the doctor left the room the nurse got ready to give him his shots. He first got an oral vaccination that he really didn't like the taste of and then she quickly gave him two shots on his left leg and one on his right. He screamed but was quickly calmed by nursing. I was once again very proud of him.
He was okay when I got home but he then woke up screaming from his nap. When I lightly touched his leg he flinched and would cry harder. My poor sore little boy. When he calmed down a bit I gave him tylenol. The soreness started going away then but he just wasn't himself the rest of the day. He was fussy and sleepy. We got through it though and he never got a fever. So that's over until his four month appointment and then we'll go through it all again.
Last night Joel and I went out on a date. It was our first since Isaac was born. I did okay, but was very ready to hold my son when we got home!
Anywho.. that's life right now. I started thi post at 8:00... it's now almost ten! So many interruptions and now I'm down to one hand to type so I think it's time for me to go!

The grunting starts around 4:30 or 5am. Mommy and Isaac snuggle up close. Mommy sticks the binky in his mouth hoping to forgo the inevitable waking up that is about to happen. After about half an hour and dozens of times of spitting out the binky, almost fussing and mommy sticking it back in we get out of bed. By this time Isaac is WIDE awake, looking around and smiling at random objects as if to say "Ha! I win!" Mommy has to rub her eyes a few times. Off they go to change Isaac's diaper. He lays there smiling at the wall, at the window, at whatever is put in front of his face. Arms flailing, legs kicking he makes it hard for his sleepy mommy to get his clean diaper on. Next... breakfast. But after a few minutes of sucking Isaac remembers that there is a brand new world around him and he gets distracted. So mommy stands him up on her lap and he looks all around with the widest of eyes. By this time mommy has finally woken up and accepted the fact that it is now morning. They spend some time talking to eachother and smiling and laughing. This lasts for about an hour until Isaac has had enough. The fussing begins, the diaper gets changed and Isaac finally settles down to a nice long breakfast. Nap time.
*We had our longest sleeping spell last night! FOUR hours and then a three hour one right after that! So this is what rested feels like... I forgot*

| This past week has been a fun one. Zel was home as he transitions from Pittsburgh to D.C. He's headed to D.C. today. Isaac and I spent a good part of the week over at mom and dad's so that Zel could have some time with his nephew and we all could catch up. I'm looking forward to moving into mom an dad's at the end of the month! It was really nice to have someone to watch Isaac for a couple hours during the day so that I could go take a nap or just have some time for myself. Marie and I even went out to Starbucks one afternoon and left Isaac with mom. I must say it wasn't that easy to leave him even for that short amount of time!
Joel's out looking for boxes right now. I've come to the realization that the move is happening in about 3 weeks...and I'm nowhere close to being ready for it! So this coming week will find me sorting and packing. I wish the whole actual moving process would just happen by itself!
I'm starting to look forward to Christmas season. I'm ready for the music and the decorations and the warm cozy feeling it always brings! We've decided to do Christmas in Washington with Joel's family this year. So we'll be there for Christmas Eve and day. It'll be interesting to see how Isaac does for that trip! Luckily he likes the car for the most part. He'll be almost 3 months old by that time! Crazy.
He had his One month appointment this week. He's a whopping 10 lbs 8 ounces, and gained 3/4 of an inch in height (21 3/4"). He had to have another billy rubin test because he still has a little bit of his jaundice left. He screamed through the heel prick and as the nurse squeezed the blood out. I hate hearing him in pain like that. Dr. Garcia called me later in the day and said that his level is down to 6.5 (it was at 13 three weeks ago). Apparently it's called "breast fed jaundice" so if he still looks a little yellow in two weeks I'm supposed to call back and we'll figure out what to do then. Honestly, I think he's fine and that his levels are going down (just slowly). But I'll do whatever they think is best. Dr. Garcia didn't sound to worried though. He said that other then the slight jaundice Isaac is looking perfect. I think so too.
Okay, Isaac is down for a nap and I need some food.
